“When I first got home from the Shepherd Center, everything was new to my parents and me. We were so fortunate to have Beth come in and ease some of that stress. She helped me establish a workout routine and address all kinds of problems that come along with being paralyzed. A spinal cord injury is extremely complicated, and having the knowledge of Beth has transformed not only my life but everyone involved. I can say my health would not be as good as it is without Beth. I owe Beth a lot for her help on my journey to independence."

"My husband and I met Beth at the absolute worst time of our lives. Sandy had just been flown to the Shepherd Center with a spinal cord injury. He was a new quadriplegic with little movement. We believed our lives were over and the future was bleak. Beth Sasso was one of Sandy’s assigned therapists. Her skill set and knowledge base was obvious from the start. More importantly was her commitment to Sandy’s recovery. Working with someone with little movement is a challenge but when Sandy didn’t respond to a therapy Beth was researching and experimenting with alternative therapies for him. Her care was personalized and vital to his recovery. She believed he could improve and so he believed. Her smile and positive attitude inspired the same in Sandy. She changed his life! When he was discharged he had a long way to go but he was walking. We had hope. And a life to live. Sandy’s story with Beth did not end there. Therapy for his injury is an on going process. Fortunately for us years later Beth moved to our area. We had never lost touch because Beth becomes invested in the whole life of her patients. She is family. Sandy started working again with Beth to refine and fine tune his walk and movements. She has great vision and works tirelessly to accomplish their goals. Again she is an inspiration to us- a life changer. I can honestly say Beth continues to have the greatest impact on Sandy’s independence and quality of life. Beth has a beautiful heart that is inclusive of family. She has patience and empathy and works tirelessly to include family in skills and therapy. She is a natural teacher. She is a gift and we are blessed."

"Beth is a tremendous asset to have to travel to your home for extensive PT and wheelchair mobility transfers as a new quadriplegic! I can say this because as a parent, I witness her improve and impact my son’s quality of life every time she works with him one on one. Beth saved the day! She helped us in the very beginning when we thought all was lost trying to slide board in and out of the shower chair! She also worked with Grant a long time learning to sit up and roll over in the bed. Beth has worked with Grant with arm bands and weights. She even helped order him a new chair because she noticed bad posture in the old chair and she fought insurance to help Grant get a FES bike which aids in circulation. Beth is part of the family. She goes surfing, canoeing, swimming, cycling, and playing tennis with Grant. We love Beth and she goes the extra mile with her clients. Please don’t stay inactive! Beth can help you live a healthier and happier life!

“My name is Sandy. In 2013 I was thrown from my horse and instantly became a quadriplegic. My first meeting with Beth was at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta. She was my therapist. As a physician, I was impressed with her obvious special talent with neurologic injuries. But more importantly, I was impacted me with her positive attitude and warmth. At that time I was desperate to have someone help motivate me and give me hope. Beth was perfect for the task. Because of Beth’s influence I was moving toward independence by the time I was discharged from Shepherd. As luck would have it Beth moved near me several years ago and our therapy resumed. Again she entered my life when I was struggling and immediately developed a strategy. Beth has all the traditional skills but additionally she thinks “outside the box” and carefully designs a personalized plan that focuses on each individual need. She is an artist working on a masterpiece and she made me feel “special”. She motivates me to work hard and dream big. Living with a disability is challenging but she inspires me to fight harder. Her care is innovative and current- presently she has me walking with the NewGait. If you have a neurologic problem you could not find a more a more qualified, proficient therapist. She is my therapist but more importantly she is family. We love her dearly. I could never have progressed to this quality of life without Beth. I am such a blessed and lucky man!"

"Beth is very thoughtful and loves the work she does. She is flexible with scheduling. She goes above and beyond for my husband who is a quadriplegic. She is very knowledgeable. She helps us even when she is not with us. If we have a question, she will always try to find an answer. Truly, if is wasn't for Beth, we wouldn't be getting any answers or help during this hardship. She really is remarkable."
