Physical Therapy

An individualized treatment plan that best fits your needs will be developed after an evaluation assessing your overall mobility, function, strength, and balance. It will also be based on your goals and what’s important to you. Treatment will be developed to include functional exercise that is fun, innovative, and research based to help promote neuroplasticity, maximize your potential, and achieve your goals.

Wellness

Research shows that exercise helps improve and/or prevent decline in individuals with neurological conditions. Depending on your needs, a skilled and research informed exercise program will be designed. By having a neuro physical therapist design and implement your exercise program, you can be sure that chosen exercises will be most appropriate and beneficial for you. Your current fitness, function, and balance, as well as current evidence specific to any condition or injury you may have will be considered.

Wellness sessions will include aerobic exercise, strengthening, functional mobility, and skill training. These sessions are ideal for individuals recently diagnosed with neurological diseases or those seeking continued support after completing insurance-based physical therapy.

It is very exciting that current research shows that aerobic exercise can actually slow the progression Parkinson’s Disease (PD)!  There is also an overwhelming amount of  evidence that exercise can help people with many different motor and non-motor symptoms they may experience with PD.

PWR!Moves, which are PD specific functional exercises,  are designed to target skills known to deteriorate in people with PD, which often lead to loss of mobility and function.  A regular exercise program consisting  of high intensity aerobic exercise and PWR! Moves can help individuals with PD stay as healthy, fit, and mobile as possible.

Together, we will create a personalized exercise prescription to keep you functional and fit for life!

Aquatics

The pool is an amazing environment to work on all kinds of mobility and fitness goals. It is a great place to safely work on balance or walking. The buoyancy of the water can be used to support and assist, or resist and challenge, depending on your needs and goals. A personalized aquatic therapy or wellness program can be a great fit to leading a more mobile, active, and healthy lifestyle.

Pilates

Pilates is for everyone. These low impact exercises are designed to strengthen the core (deep abdominal musles, low back, and hips), and increase mobility. Pilates can help someone rehab from an injury, or help prevent one from occurring by increasing mobilty and stability. Pilates sessions will be mat-based unless someone has their own reformer. Pilates sessions will be individually tailored addressing posture, past injuries, movement concerns, or physical needs and will be tailored accordingly to beginners or those experienced with Pilates.
